Im starting a charity called 'WormAid'. Yes, its for the humble earthworm. How many of you realise what these amazing creatures do for the planet? They work constantly and tirelessly in appalling conditions to air the soil, turn it over, decompress it, draw down nutrients, make it possible for grass and crops to thrive.
They never attack people, spread disease, get drunk, have late night parties or crawl to the surface to look up girl's skirts. In return we do absolutely nothing for them.
I want to set up rest centres where they can relax in beautiful surroundings, meet other worms, try on hoodies, have donkey rides, eat warm custard, a soothing massage, and be entertained by lap-dancing dung beetles.
So next time you're in the garden and see a worm, give it a hug. They'll be here long after we've gone!
And its not true that if you cut a worm in half, you get two worms! You just get two dead halves! And do not keep them as pets, they are wild creatures and cannot be house-trained!

Tickle it in the middle and see which end laughs !

Strike a match each end and wait till it farts!
